How it works

How the loan-matching process works

Send one free request, let lenders in our network review it, then compare any offer on its own terms. You decide whether to accept, and there is no fee to use the service.

How one request reaches several lenders

Your request is one free form that we share with lenders in our network. Lenders that may serve you can respond with offers, and you choose whether to continue with any of them.

We are a connector, not a lender. We do not decide who gets approved, set the APR or send the money. Our job is to put your request in front of lenders that work with borrowers like you, so you do not have to fill out the same details on several sites.

Requests range from $500 to $5,000. Lenders in the network typically offer terms of 6 to 36 months, with APRs that may range from 5.99% to 35.99% (est.). The lender sets the real numbers after it reviews your information.

Step 1: Submit one request

Start by choosing an amount between $500 and $5,000 and telling us what the money is for. Most people finish the form in about five minutes (est.).

  • Loan amount and purpose, such as a car repair, a medical bill, a move or card balances.
  • Name, email, phone number and home address.
  • Income source, how often you are paid and an estimate of your monthly income.
  • Date of birth and other details a lender needs to verify your identity.

Ask for the amount you actually need. A $1,000 request over 12 months at 24.99% APR is about $95.04 a month (est.), while $2,000 over the same term is about $190.08 a month (est.). Borrowing less keeps the payment and the interest lower.

Step 2: Get matched with lenders

After you submit, we share your request with lenders and partners in our network that may serve your state, amount and situation. Matching is not approval, and no lender is required to make an offer.

A lender may show an offer on screen, send you to its own website or contact you by email or phone. Some lenders run a soft credit inquiry at this stage, which does not affect your score; a hard inquiry usually happens only when you formally apply with a lender.

Watch for scamsWe never ask for an upfront fee, a gift card or a wire transfer, and real lenders do not either. Be wary of offers that promise approval before reviewing anything.

Step 3: Review the offer carefully

Each offer comes with the lender's own terms. Before you agree, check the APR, the term, the monthly payment, any origination fee and the total amount you will repay over the life of the loan.

Representative example (estimate)
DetailValue
Amount$2,000
Term12 months
APR24.99% (est.)
Monthly payment$190.08 (est.)
Total repaid$2,280.94 (est.)
Total interest$280.94 (est.)

Some lenders charge an origination fee of 0% to 8%, often taken out of the amount you receive. On a $2,000 loan, a 5% fee means $100 is deducted and you get $1,900. Use our personal loan calculator to test other amounts and terms.

Step 4: Accept the offer or walk away

You stay in control. If an offer fits your budget, you finish the application directly with the lender; if it does not, you can close the page without paying anything or owing anyone.

A simple test helps: add the monthly payment to your current bills and check that you can still cover rent, food and transportation with some cushion. If the numbers are tight, consider a smaller amount or a shorter list of expenses to finance.

Step 5: Receive funds from the lender

Once you sign the loan agreement, the lender sends the money, often by direct deposit. Some lenders fund as soon as the next business day after approval, but timing depends on the lender and your bank.

From then on, the lender handles everything: payment dates, autopay, statements and any hardship requests. We do not collect payments or service loans, so contact your lender directly with account questions.

Where to get help along the way

Questions about the form, your data or our network go to us. Questions about a specific offer, a payment or an account go to the lender that made the offer.

You can reach us through the contact page, and the FAQ covers common questions about eligibility, credit checks and timing.
